+
+
+Abaylard, e Heloyza viveraõ no duodecimo Seculo; merecendo neste a mais
+destincta Contemplaçaõ, assim pelos seus talentos, e Conhecimentos
+literarios, como pelas qualidades externas, de que a Natureza liberalmente
+os tinha dotado, nenhuma couza porem concorreo tanto para os fazer
+celebres, como a sua Paixaõ desgraçada: Depois de huma longa serie de
+infortunios, se retirou cada hum delles a Mosteiros, aonde consagraraõ o
+resto de seus dias a exercicios de Religiaõ, e Penitencia.
+
+Succedeu, que alguns annos depois da sua separaçaõ, huma Carta, em que
+Abaylard narrava a hum de seus Amigos todas as suas desgraças, chegou por
+cazualidade ás maõs de Heloyza, despertou esta narraçaõ toda a sua ternura;
+e deu occaziaõ a esta famoza Carta, que pinta taõ vivamente os Combates da
+Natureza, e da Graça.

+      Neste retiro quieto,
+      Onde em morna solidaõ
+      Levanta os olhos aos Ceos
+      Cançada contemplaçaõ;
+      No Lugar onde o Silencio
+      Repouza profundamente
+      Que movimentos perturbaõ
+      Minh'alma com dõr vehemente!
+      Porque razaõ se extraviaõ
+      Fòra do sancto retiro
+      Meus sentimentos profanos
+      Porque motivo eu suspiro!
+      E porque meu coraçaõ,
+      De Amor o fogo esquecido,
+      Inda será devorado
+      Ja a cinzas reduzido?
+      Que! Amarei ind'agora!
+      Eis a Carta qu'elle envia,
+      He o nome de Abaylard,
+      Que inda bejo entre agonia;
+      Nome fatal e querido!

+      Que aos Ceos por vencer se aprazem

+Seculo; merecendo neste a mais destincta
+Contemplaçaõ, assim pelos seus talentos,
+e Conhecimentos literarios, como pelas qualidades
+externas, de que a Natureza liberalmente
+os tinha dotado, nenhuma couza porem
+concorreo tanto para os fazer celebres, como a
+sua Paixaõ desgraçada: Depois de huma longa
+serie de infortunios, se retirou cada hum
+delles a Mosteiros, aonde consagraraõ o resto
+de seus dias a exercicios de Religiaõ, e Penitencia.</p>

+<p>Succedeu, que alguns annos depois da
+sua separaçaõ, huma Carta, em que Abaylard
+narrava a hum de seus Amigos todas as suas
+desgraças, chegou por cazualidade ás maõs de
+Heloyza, despertou esta narraçaõ toda a sua
+ternura; e deu occaziaõ a esta famoza Carta,
+que pinta taõ vivamente os Combates da
+Natureza, e da Graça.</p>
