Baboulifiche. - - -Le parapluie de M. Baboulifiche est trouvé par un cavalier lunaire -qui s'en empare et se promène fièrement avec cet instrument dont -il ignore l'usage. - - -Un instant après, nos deux voyageurs voient arriver sur eux des soldats -aériens lunaires faisant l'exercice. Ces voltigeurs d'élite, munis -d'ailes mises en mouvement par un petit appareil électrique qu'ils -portent à leur ceinture, effraient tellement le malheureux Papavoine -qu'il tombe à genoux en s'écriant: «--O mon maître! dans quel chien de -pays m'avez-vous conduit! Nous n'y rencontrons à chaque pas que des -dangers successifs et des émotions épouvantables! Nous voici maintenant -entourés d'un tas de voleurs ailés et terriblement armés. Grâce! -messieurs les voleurs, ne nous faites pas de mal!»--M. Baboulifiche, -totalement abruti, reste étalé sur le sol, la face cachée entre ses -mains et ne répond rien.--Mais combien son silence est éloquent. - - -Les lanciers-voltigeurs ayant passé sans leur faire aucun mal, M. -Baboulifiche et Papavoine se relèvent, prennent leurs jambes à leur cou -et vont se réfugier dans une grotte voisine, où ils ne tardent pas à -rencontrer des habitants à quatre pattes et à longues dents qui leur -font encore une peur atroce.--Ne sachant comment échapper à ce nouveau -danger, ils imaginent d'enfourcher d'énormes chauves-souris qui les -entraînent hors de la grotte et s'envolent en les emportant sur le dos. - - -Course vertigineuse de M. Après quoi l'aimable Saturnien offre l'hospitalité à -nos deux voyageurs et voyant qu'il ne comprennent pas son langage, il -les pousse doucement vers son domicile.--Au tournant d'une colline, une -large bande lumineuse s'offre à leurs regards.--Fricassée de poulet! -Qu'est-ce que c'est encore que cela? s'écrie Papavoine inquiet.--Je -suppose que ce pourrait bien être l'anneau de Saturne, hasarde le -savant M. Baboulifiche.--Ça, un anneau! Ah! non alors! A vue de nez, -cela n'y ressemble pourtant guère, répond l'incrédule Papavoine. -Aussitôt arrivé en son logis, le bon Saturnien s'empresse de panser -les plaies du pauvre Papavoine, tandis que M.
