+Noite quente d'abril. Um golpho oriental
+E o mar cantando aos pés tristezas sem egual.

+Paz immensa, em que a noite etherea e constellada
+Scismava na mudez da sombra avelludada...

+Na baça pallidez d'um terraço sumptuoso,
+Feito para um sultão se embriagar de gòso,

+Da pallida Dinah, a pallida figura
+Sorvia, n'um anceio, errando pela altura,

+Um desejo sem fórma, ethereo, fluctuante,
+Uma vaga chiméra, uma chiméra errante!

+Sonho tão ideal, coisa tão indecisa
